which bag would be better for a highschool freshman?

so im going into 9th grade and im really girly..& i found this really cute backpack that is 11 3/4"L x 5 1/2"W x 17 1/4"H..but i also found an adorable tote that is 22"L x 14 1/4"W x 15"H..which bag is bigger, and which bag would be better for a school that you cant go to your locker between classes

I would recommend carrying a back pack in that the weight is distributed evenly and they cause less strain on the shoulder. If you don't look at the materials and the thickness of a strap on a purse it can break due to weight and that will be hell when in school. You shouldn't carry all your textbooks daily though. I went to a high-school that didn't have lockers as well as attending a school with them and not having one. Its ok but limit the amount of stuff you carry to the days you need to carry items as you might not have the same classes daily.
