Seems counterproductive what with the business was ready to go south anytime, but it was pretty much as good an idea as any at the time, so we decide to hand out a sample soap and cleanser, in addition to promotional brochures, all inside custom printed tote bags.

It worked. It worked so incredibly that in two weeks (the normal time that it takes for a regularly sized family to use up the natural soap) orders for our products doubled. What's better is that people from out of state caught wind of our brand and stopped at our websites and procured from us too. Until now, when we've widened our production and already have retail outlets of sorts across three states, I'm sure those original custom printed tote bags we used are still faithfully promoting our brand. And since that first time, we've used precisely the same tactic numerous more times.

how to efficiently print a design onto a plastic bag?

I am part of a small business that wants to sell a product which we intend to package in plastic bags - the sort that you would find fertilizer or pine bark in. we don't have a lot of start-up funds so want to know the best way of getting our logo and product name, etc, on to the bags without emptying the whole piggy bank!
any suggestions?

the cheapest and most efficient way of getting a logo onto the actual bag is to go through a bag supply company and have them printed in bulk. If you find that's too expensive, you could probably get large stickers made in bulk to put on the bags.
