how do i manage to keep designer black polo shirts from picking up fluff and going grey?

As for the fading, try washing shirts in woolite, either in the gentle cycle cold water, or wash by hand. Hang or lay flat to dry, heat will just cause further fading.

As for the fluff, try a liquid fabric softener like downy when you wash. After it is dry, lightly rub a dry fabric softener sheet over shirt, or spray with anti static spray (found in laundry dept). There will always be a little fuzz, it just shows on the black, nothing to do about it. Hope this helps.
