How to Carve Bone?

The use of bone goes back to the Old Stone Age where early man made use of bones to carve jewelry, tools, weapons, needles and other utilities/ figurines etcetera. Spread your leather mat on the place you intend starting your work and keep all the required tools at hand. Using the etching knife and the gravers, gently carve the smaller aspects of the design. This will help you get the knack and practice, by using the filing tools gently file away at the edges and start shaping the bone to get the outline of the design. Keep repeating the procedure until you get the complete design on all the sides of the bone. After the design is complete; use sandpaper and sand down your bone.
