A very interesting article published in the Public Personnel Management in the winter of 97 revealed a study done by the International Personal Management Association where training alone was compared with coaching combined with training. The study showed that training alone increased productivity by 22.4% while training plus coaching increased productivity by a massive 88 %.

Coaching contracts vary to some degree but generally a client will work with a coach for between six and twelve months for a monthly fee, which covers four weekly sessions. There are no additional charges and the coach does not take a percentage or a contingency- type fee or award.

Very simply, people hire a coach because they want MORE of something (money, time, happiness, success, freedom) or LESS of something (frustration, toleration, delays, procrastination). A coach is trained to work with a client on both personal and business goals as opposed to a therapist who works on issues- there is a huge difference. Having set those goals the coach will help you implement them and stay by your side until their completion. So the question is "Would you like to change your life? Do you want more time for yourself? Would you like to take better care of your health, reduce stress and create more balance in your life?". The answer is to hire a coach.

Very soon the question will be not "Do you have a coach?" but

"Who is your coach?"

Is it true it will be a British football team in London 2012?

It will be like a 100% English players team?
Do you think this could be the trigger to Scotland's independence so they can play with their own team in the Olympics?
What about the equipments? A full Union Jack in the jerseys?
And what about the coach? Ferguson could coach UK?

The Olympics are in London which is part of England. therefore the olympic Football team will no doubt be made up of English players as, from what I have read the other home nations don't really feel part of a London Olympic set up.

In my opinion, however, I think we are missing out on an oppurtunity to cure many of the problems that we have at top level football. By that I mean that the FA could set up a parallel Olympic League made up of the reserve teams of the Premiership, The Scottish Premiership, Northern Ireland League plus the Welsh Premier League.

This league would replace the current reserve team leagues. It Could run from March To November thus bringing summer soccer to Britain, as well as bringing more money into the clubs via a more optimised staduim use. For example, I noticed that Spurs reserves beat Arsenal reserves twice this season, and Spurs Finished second in the table. There must have been at least £20 million worth of talent playing that day, but I bet there were less than 1000 watching. To have Arsenal Olympic v Rangers Olympic on a sunny July afternoon at the Emirates with reasonably priced tickets on sale to all and sundry would probably attract 40,000 at least.

The new turf technology available would solve the problem of pitch wear and tear.

We could impose a 80% 20% quota of British born players to be fielded thus bringing on young talents before they graduate to the first teams and the Full international teams. It would give the Managers more time to assess the talent in their squads.
The ultimate benefit would be to have regular Olympic and World Cup Participation and hopefully more success at international Level.

Sepp Blatter has said that a GB Team in 2012 would not jepoardize the current 4 Home Nations Set Up so, why not go for it.
