Now that we've covered the foods, let's go over how you lose weight. First, the foods are pretty low in calories. By this alone, you will be taking in less calories than usual and hopefully will be bringing in much less than you are burning through out the day. This alone should bring about some weight loss. But, I believe the real secret to nutrisystem is the fact that the foods are high in protein and fiber and low in sugar and carbs. This ensures that, like diets such as Atkins and South Beach, your body turns on it's fat since it doesn't have it's usual carbohydrates for fuel. This gives you another weapon with which to lose more pounds more quickly.

In terms of costs, the silver program does not cost any more than the regular programs.
