What are cow hides worth? Do people even buy cowhide?

My mom has about 5 or 6 cowhides in our basement that she wants to sell on ebay or craig's list. I *think* they are cow. They are a tan color, smooth on one side and sueded on the other. I don't know anything about leather. I believe they were my uncle's, because he had a ranch.
