Thessaloniki is a city with fine history and wild time full of life and energy.

Thessaloniki is the second biggest city in Greece after Athens. It was established by the Macedonian king Cassander in 315 BC Is it the name of his wife Thessaloniki, sister of Alexander the greatest. Her father, Philip II, called it in honor of his victory over Thessalian. The title can be translated as "beating Thessalians". Exceptional streets, parks and squares mix for a pleasant meadows and tree lines. There are aged houses and neoclassical property, stand side by side with brand-new structures.

The folks of Thessaloniki are in Greece for his kindness, well known of its hospitality the state is legendary for its large kitchen - no one can resist the pleasing pastries and cakes, do not forget one of the many taverns that offer classical Greek food. One of the most legendary sites is the White Tower of Thessaloniki Levkos.

Pyrgos or White Tower in Thessaloniki - this is one of the leading attractions of the city and its emblem Located on the quayside promenade of Thessaloniki "Nikki" Built by Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent - there are in the east with the sea wall grade.

Gorgeous amazing views, transfer us to different time in a distinct world. The tower is cylindrical with an altitude of 33.90 meters and a diameter of 22.70 m. It is on the ground floor and six floors connected by a circling staircase. Past the tower was the Turks to prison, where they used killed many revolutionaries and enemies of the Ottoman Empire, she was tagged Bloody Tower by the end of the 19th century. Then the tower is painted white and has since called it the White Tower. Today is it is the Byzantine Museum. Next to it is an awesome Greek bar where we have made our midday meal and glass of wine from Thessaloniki to the Church of St. Demetrius stoned. St. Demetrius -The largest Orthodox church in Thessaloniki is the patron saint of the City. In the Church are the residue of most saints.

Saint Demetrius was born in Thessaloniki in the after second century. His father was mayor of the town and quietly believed in Christ. Though the youthful man killed his parents, Emperor Maximilian appointed him a high army posts with the object of persecution Christians. Growing up in the Christian faith Dimitar no such intentions and began directly to glorify Jesus Christ to promote and began to propagate of Christianity. Once that is understood, asked Emperor Maximilian of Dimitry to leave behind their faith, but he refused, was thrown into prison and latterly stabbed with a spear in the 306 years. Though Emperor Constantine stop murder against the Christians, the spot where he killed Demetrius is a small church built in 413 years and later determined to be grateful for your healing lay in the little church bigger temple to build. The relics were brought in a silver coffin of St. on the display and in the small church, and according to tale, there flowed perfumed oil. For that reason, the Church of St. Dimitar is named on Dimitar Mirotochivi. Still held relics of St. Demetrios in the Basilica, called after his name, where the day of his death in Thessaloniki pilgrims from around the world and particularly from the Balkans flow. Precise there we would be at the greatest prayer stay at Easter.

A little tired anyway but we go on, all that is so beautiful and wild that I almost forgot is celebratory time and space. Illusion everywhere and we absolutely like the streets are adorned with oil and palm branches, the windows of the shops are decorated with Easter eggs and all things tastes like spring flowers and bliss. Back of a short rest we depart to St. George Rotunda of nuns and monks, the supreme monument Greece.

Afterwards a speedy shower and taking a break in the greece break villa we have rented this time for our holiday, we moving back into the Church of St. Demetrius in the liturgy of Easter. Jam-packed with people celebrating, not only the city but also from other cities and countries, chapel, festive spirits and smiling faces. The advantage of the festival is reflected in the lighted candles. Afterwards Liturgy we go eat dinner in Ladadika. Ladadika is near to Aristotle's square where there are multitude traditional restaurants, stores that sell miscellaneous brands of ouzo and taverns. Enjoy the barbecues and delightful recipes as kontosuvli (kontosouvli is a pig on a spit) and gardubes (gardoubes) with a glass of wine or ouzo. If you love seafood, you will by the mussel pilaf, grilled sardines, seafood, oysters and stuffed squid. Saganaki will be attracted in one of the many fish restaurants.

Thessaloniki offers a variety of flavors - traditional Greek food, Oriental and European cooking. Result of baked goods and Constantinople kitchen cooking add mystery. It is worthwhile to try traditional bugatsa (dough stuffed with cheese or cream), syrupy sweet kadaif joy, and the glorious Panorama tulumbi sales. Nightlife in Thessaloniki is excellent all over Greece. There are many bars, clubs, discos and places of all ages and tastes. Ladadika is a hot location of the city, where to join young people and generally all local and foreign go out there.

Eat, drink and dance up till the crack of dawn without any restrictions. The another morning, is one of the most amazing cities in the world is still holiday and the sun shines for over Tessaloniki. We will arrive back another time, and will absolutely take one more break in greece visiting other Greek towns or the guess the Greek Islands next time. Yasou Thessaloniki!

Fancy a QUICK poem? ;) ?

I guess it's not really a poem, I just felt like writing. I'm always writing.
Can you tell me what you think? please.
It's about rape, but I feel the reader may interpret it as they wish
The stream being me and gravity being him.

When a droplet of water falls, it stands together. Using all it's strength to prevent the beautiful transparent sphere from crumbling, beneath the overwhelming stare of gravity watching closely over its shoulder. Waiting for the satisfaction of a puddle, a shapeless waste, which will too soon evaporate. Gravity is blind, for the droplet was never a droplet, but a cleverly disguised stream. A promenading stream.

that is very very good.
u'r a very talented person.
hope u'll continue writing! ^.^
