Getting invitations for your wedding printed as beautifully as you imagined is not impossible. It can even turn out better than you ever dreamed possible with just a few choices. Depending on the budget you have to work with the options are unlimited with what you can do. There are big differences that can be made just by choosing a different paper type or a different folding method for your wedding invitations.  There are embellishments and designs that can be layered on each other to create a custom look; it is all up to the imagination of the couple and the available options at the card making company.

Most card making companies offer their own signature types of paper. Almost all of them carry a one hundred percent cotton paper which is usually one of the most expensive as well as a heavy cotton wood pulp mix that is perfect for embossed or engraved wedding invitations. The colors are traditionally white, ivory or ecru which really is all different colors. Most often when the couple can afford it, the enclosures which are the RSVP, save the date, directions and so on are printed on the same paper type as the wedding invitations. The right card making company can even customize a calligraphy style for all of the cards you will use in your wedding. This may not seem like a lot after the wedding invitations are sent in the packet to the guests but there is still a lot left. People have a lot more cards and paper in their weddings than they think.

Card making companies are responsible for printing the wedding programs, creating the guest book and even the place cards for the reception and rehearsal dinners. If the couple and company agree to do foil printing there can even be a silver or gold metallic detail or lettering on the cards. The typestyle and folding may seem like they could make an impact and they can so do not stop at just the card feel and colors, investigate several options for the typestyle colors and folding arrangements as well. And finally do not forget the edges of your cards, menus and programs. Your guests touch these and the feel of the edges can make a big difference on the appearance as well. Typically the options with the edges of the card are dictated by the type of paper that is used.
