Simple Embossing Tips for your Leather

One of the best ways to make your leather look exceptionally outstanding is by embossing it. Most leather crafts have embosses in different designs making them more unique and stylish from other kinds of leather.

Leather crafts with embossed designs have either a raised embossed look or a pressed down look. You can choose different embossed designs by getting them from craft stores. You can get your embossing wheel with your preferred design and do your own embossing. It is simple and practical and you can do it in the comforts of your home.

Get your embossing wheel from craft or hobby stores and choose different designs.

The leather you must use should be vegetable tanned leather or also referred to as tooling leather. This is the only kind of leather that is safe for embossing designs.

Put your leather on a sturdy flat surface. The part of the leather where you are going to
emboss should be damp enough. Don't saturate it with too much water.

Place the embossing wheel in position against the opposite side of the leather where you want your embossed design to come out. You would have to roll the embossing wheel many times over the area where your design is going to appear. Then allow drying time for your leather so the embossed design will harden in position.

You can make opposite effect embossing by choosing the side where you want your depressed design to be seen. Wet the leather to make it damp and roll the embossing wheel on the design. This time the design will appear to have a pressed look or depressed appearance on the leather.

Embossing leather is one of the creative ways to make leather look expensive and attractive. Embossed designed leather crafts are notably popular all over the world.
