How to stop leather from bleeding?

My bag is canvas with leather handles, and when I washed it, the dye from the handles and logo came off onto the canvas. I've been bleaching the canvas, but every time I wash it, the dye from the leather comes off. How can I avoid this? Thanks!

You shouldn't have washed it to begin with. Dyed leather should not go into the washing machine.

Every time you wash it this will occur.
