Leather Bags: The Must-Have Fashion Accessory

Handbags have been around since as early as the 14th century. They were designed and created for people to carry items they felt they needed to have with them all the time. At around the beginning of the 1900's, the word handbags started to be used. Men generally carried these bags around with them as they were regarded as luggage for travel. Between this time until the present, females got into the arena with their bags, fashion, and unique style.  

Leather bags came into being during the Greekand Roman era when men carried leather style pouches as a way of keeping their coins with them. Then again in the 1800's and 1900's, bags crafted from leather were considered rugged and superior as luggage for travel purposes. As a precursor to a lady's purse, the small leather case was designed for women to use as a carry-on during travel.  

Now leather handbags run the gamut from fashion to practicality, useful to ridiculous, fueled only by imagination and creativity. They are now encountered in the areas of diaper bags, cases for computers, briefcases, ladies pocketbooks, luggage and the list is endless . Leather handbags are a bit heavier than some fabrics and you can choose from something crafted from hard or soft leather according to the item. Leather accessories can be used by families for generations if adquately looked after. Leather comes in different forms. There are choices in patent, suede, imprinted, embossed , or bordered. Choices of colour are also almost limitless although some like staying with natural shades.  

Because of their attractiveness, usefulness, durability, and ruggedness, leather items will be with us way into the future. Maintaining the beauty and shape of leather items is relatively easy. There are just a few simple things to remember. Suede leather can be brushed to clean and refresh the item. Never store leather in plastic, cloth is preferred. Smooth leather may be wiped with a damp cloth for cleaning. Hanging on a hook helps preserve the best appearance of items. Should there be a small tear or rip, using rubber cement seems to work nicely. Lastly should your bag get wet, empty it and let it air dry.  

Looking at the future, leather is here to stay. Whether you are a collector of lovely vintage accessories, or invest in the latest designs, the options and versatility are out there and will be around for years to come. Even recycling and redesigning have gotten on the bandwagon. Yes all the aforementioned bags, cases, purses, and luggage are cruising down the roads of the future with almost endless choices ahead.

I'm getting a Kindle 3 very soon and i have heard about a problem with the leather case?

I have heard that the metal attachments can cause the kindle to restart and freeze. Have amazon fixed that and if they haven't what can i do to stop the metal attachments from freezing and restarting my kindle?
