What we now celebrate as Mother’s Day, a time for buying gifts for mum and treating her for the day, has its origins in ancient times.  In Ancient Greece and Rome the Goddesses of Isis and Gaia were worshipped as the Mother of the Gods and then early Christians celebrated their Mother Church.  In the seventeenth century this day was broadened to embrace real mothers and the name Mothering Sunday came about.

Mother’s Day always falls during Lent and in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries this was a day when families were permitted to break the fasting of Lent, and workers were allowed to spend the day with their families.

Is it suitable for a 50+ year old lady? (im thinking of giving my mum as a mother's day present)
Is it suitable for a 18 year old girl? (if she doesnt want it, then I could have it)

I don't really like it (I am 20), however it could be suitable for a 50 year old, it's a bit hard to say really.
Personally, I think you could find something a bit nicer. Older women can be trendy too! Considering the brand is called "ShopUgly(??)" I would definitely buy a diff bag!! x
