trying to shrink a pink cotton hoodie?

My dad got me a light pink hoodie last weekend but he picked up a VERY large hoodie.
I was wanting to shrink it even if it will only shrink a bit because its too big. It is a light pink 50% cotton and 50% polyester hoodie and we own an LG HE washer and dryer. is it ok to wash it with other colored clothes and what setting/ Temperature water should i wash it in? Thank you

Shrinking clothes is a job for a tailor, not a washing machine. The only way to shrink clothes is to take them to a tailor and have them altered. Many dry cleaners also do alterations.

If you try to shrink your hoodie by washing it in hot water and then drying the heck out of it, the hoodie will just look older and more worn out. It won't shrink much, and will shrink unpredictably.

Think about it...if you could shrink clothes just by washing and drying them, what would large people do? They could never wash their clothes because if they did, the clothes wouldn't fit anymore.

Honestly, if the hooide matter to you, have it altered. Or do it yourself, if you know how to sew.

Or just give the hoodie to the Salvation Army.
