Should I get a medium or large bag?

I really have wanted a longchamp bag for 3 years and i'm finally getting one. I want either navy or black. My friends say navy and its cute but somethings telling me black. so let me know if you like navy or black better. At first i wanted the medium (normal purse size) and its more of just a shopping bag. Now i kinda want the large cuz i could use it for overnight, school, and shopping. on some people i see it doesnt look too big but im only 15, 5' 3" so would the large be too big?
