Chocolate Truffles The Perfect Gift and the Luxury of Luxuries

For the first time I sampled a selection of hand-made chocolate truffles supplied from the London firm of Prestat. Naturally I tried them with the urgency only a true chocaholic can understand and savoured each one with the pure dedication only an afficionado can muster.  Superlatives escaped me then and are still hard to come by even when I think about them whilst eagerly awaiting the next delivery.

Definitely my favourite was the banoffee truffles. Bitter chocolate and bananas are made for each other. These truffles combined a delicate, if a little sweet, blend of two of the best flavours yet discovered, to wallow in sheer luxury and in total bliss made me completely unaware of the snow falling outside.
If you have a sweet tooth, then you'll die for these. White chocolate truffles are filled with soft caramel infused with real banana. The truffles have been spun with dark chocolate lightly flavoured with coffee which has been decaffeinated in order to satisfy the health-conscious amongst us.

Next I forced myself to test the Champagne truffles and that was a hard task.  Champagne and chocolate, is without doubt yet another perfect combination that allows one total self-indulgence.

As a result of Antoine's flair for creativity and perfection, Prestat became an instant success and has remained so ever since.

What enables Prestat to be so creative is that unlike many chocolate makers who focus purely on profit,  Prestat has managed to resist the profit temptation of the ready-made product to ensure all their chocolates are hand-crafted, filled and gift wrapped under the same roof, and more importantly under the same watchful gaze of their own qualified and talented Chocolatiers.

Apart from the fabulous range of truffles, they also produce one of the smoothest and velvet like Hot Chocolate drink mixes that at 70% pure gives exceptional flavour and consistency unbeaten by anything else.

Furthermore this is not the processed chocolate that is full of sugar and gives you spots.  Nor is it full of preservatives.  It is ethically sourced and pure chocolate that leaves you feeling good without the guilt.
