Should i use a purse/tote for school or a backpack?

im in highschool. okay so i would usually use a backpack because we would always have a lot of books and stuff but my school is switching from books to mini laptops so we wont have to carry around books anymore just like binders for homework and stuff so i was thinking about switching from a bookbag to a larger purse/tote.. do you guys think thats a good idea? or should i just stick with the bookbag?

I think a backpack. totes really just don't seem o do it. Maybe carry a tote on the days your load is really light
