Those children had to be put through college and then they had their own weddings to pay for. Needless to say, the diamond fund was used many times for reasons other than the purchase of the woman's diamond ring.

Time went on and the husband retired from his job. With his retirement money, he finally purchased his wife the diamond she had always wanted. At that point, her son and daughter-in-law announced that they were expecting their first child. A young couple in love, just as the woman herself had once been, the son and daughter-in-law had not been able to afford a diamond either. The woman, in her usual self-sacrificing style, handed her diamond ring over to her daughter-in-law saying that she was too old to appreciate its beauty.

Saving is Hard

Jenny could not express how hard it was to save $50 every month for her mom's Chloe handbag. But after almost a year, she had finally saved enough to make her mom's dream come true.
