Skin on the nails is overgrowing?

If your skin on the fingersdont extends outwards to cover the inner lighter part of your nails, you should be seeing the crescent-like marking on your nails. Well occasionally I peel a thin stripe of these skin flaps. It makes my nails look shorter and bitten if I don't. Is it normal to have these excess skin?
I'd also like to know what may be causing this, I have heard about overproduction of white blood cells which may also cause imflammation in other parts of the body

Are you referring to the Cuticle?? Everyone has them, perhaps yours are a little overgrown. In my experience (at the salon) they always cut this excess skin and/or push it back to make your nails grow.

Note: dont think it has ANYthing to do with your WBC count! (i am a nurse and usually an infection somewhere in the body , does not cause overgorwn cuticles!)

Its normail- just get a cuticle cutter, push it back, or go to the saloN!
