Can I attach Swarovski flat back crystals to the frames of a pair of eyeglasses?

Hi everyone. I was wondering if it would be possible to attach flat-back Swarovski crystals to the side of my prescription eyeglass' frames. The frames are made of plastic.

- If I am able to do so, would I use gem glue, or a hotfix tool?
- Also would this damage my glasses?

Funny you should ask. Yesterday I repaired my glasses with rhinestones. I have a pair of glasses with 2 tiny jewels set in the front, and two on each earpiece. They were missing, all that was left was the round hole that they were set in. So, I bought iron on rhinestones, they are tiny and are just the right size, took them off the iron on paper, and used them for the jewels.
I put two drops of super glue on a disposable plate, took a broken off toothpick, dipped the pick into the glue, and touched it to the site on the glasses. I kept doing that until I could see there was enough glue in the hole to meet the jewel. And carefully put in the jewel. and let it dry. Perfect.

Yes, the glue might be permanent. Yes, it might damage the plastic frames if you use hot glue. Yes, some glues might could damage the frames. No, you probably can't remove the jewels without damaging the frames. And no, don't use hot glue, it is known not to hold things together very well, and you could easily knock the jewels right back off. And yes superglue is permanent.

If you can, go buy a cheap pair of plastic sunglasses, try the dollar store, and do some practicing with glues and see what happens. And do remember, that if you glue something on the frames of your glasses, you might be able to see it in your peripheral vision, and it might be annoying to you.
