Postpartum - Reasons For The Baby Blues

I've got a new idea for a reality show; it'll be about being a new mom and what it's actually like. There exists a belief that being a new mom means that you're all rosy and happy constantly. There is certainly some truth to that, but new moms do not always feel happy, and many of them get the 'baby blues" and some have postpartum depression.

Are you aware that over 50% of women feel some sort of "baby blues" after they have given birth? So you are not alone, and certainly not a bad mother because you are feeling down. Feeling impatient, restless, irratable and anxious are common feelings when you have had a baby. You have spent the last 9 months growing a brand new life in you, not surprisingly you are bound to feel a lttle bit drained and exhusted. Being pregnant and giving birth are very emotional times, therefore it is not a surprise you'll feel emotionally drained following childbirth.

For the average women the "baby blues' symptoms leave as fast as they came. There's help for the portion of those mothers for whom the symptoms remain. Some symptoms of postpartum depression are: the inability to concentrate, low energy, severe emotional highs and lows, sadness, no interest or too much interest in the baby, loss of appetite, and fearful of harming the baby. A mother with postpartum doesn't need to exhibit all symptoms everyday. What they do feel every day is guilt, shame and they often become isolated.

The worst part is no one knows what can cause postpartum depression. Some research suggests hormones affect the brain chemistry and factors such as lack of sleep, stress and isolation after the baby is born contribute to postpartum depression. The idealic picture on motherhood being this happy joyful thing isn't complete. On the same day it could be the most satisfying and the hardest ob you will ever have. Because of these two clashing ideals you have mothers that become exteremly depressed after gving birth.

It is not always easy for you to spot postpartum depression in your life. You may think you feel down because you are working very hard and sleeping and showers aren't priorities. So if a friend or loved one expresses their concern, pay attention to what they're saying. Should you recognize these symptoms or someone has expressed concern, call your physician. A physician will be an important part of your recovery, you cannot depend on just attending support groups. Do not feel ashamed or guilty. You will be feeling better soon, the support from both your physician and freinds will have you feeling normal once more.

If you are experiancing any of these symptoms for a long peirod of time, it isn't the 'baby blues'. but postpartum depression and you need to contact your doctor. Getting helathy is essential for you and the new baby.

How do I get ready for baby blue belly lizards?

I am currently waiting on two pair of blue belly lizards that laid eggs on the same day. Do you have any suggestions or advice for me on how to care for the eggs and/or the new baby lizards when they hatch. The eggs were laid on June 9th. Any information would be helpful. Thank you.

well youll want to incubate the eggs at about 80-85 dgrees farenheit
a moist substrate should be used for the eggs bedding. find some dirt vermiculit or perilite for the eggs water the bedding then squeeze out the water that way its damp but not soaking wet, then make an imprint in the substrate for the egg, mark the top side of the egg with a ball point pen CARFULLY, dont flip the egg it WILL die, it will drown the baby insidE place the egg in the inprint u made gently burry it half way
then store it somewhere safe then wait a month or two or three and hopfully youll hatch some baby blue bellys:)
