why does everyone say that abercrombie is preppy?

that is not preppy. preppy is what my parents wore in the eighties and what i wear now. khakis, nice polos, matching ribbon belts and headbands, monogrammed purses, penny loafers, cardigan sweaters, hot pink and kelly green, etc. please tell me what you think the definition of preppy is. why does everyone say that abercrombie is preppy?

I think over the years, the popular girls in schools where called "preppy" and they wore abercrombie, ans soon the owrd popular, and preppy got combine with abercrombie. But I understand where you are coming from, when people say preppy, I say "Ralph lauren preppy?" and they get confussed. It irritates me alot.

I have to admit though, I have been caught refrencing abercrombie as preppy
