The Skin's Renewal Process

The process of skin renewal begins in the skin's lower layer, the dermis, where the cells progressively become more acidic as they rise through four epidermal layers toward the outermost layer.  This top layer, called the horny layer or stratum corneum, is made of tightly woven flatten cells filled with keratin (the strong stuff your fingernails are made of).  This layer is insoluble in water thus giving the epidermis its protective layer.

The enzyme Aminopeptidase causes these flattened cells to lose their ability to stick together and this lack of coherence results in the cells falling apart one by one.  This lose of coherence is the sloughing-off process of skin cells. Considered biologically dead because they no longer have a nucleus, these cells break off in an uneven fashion and can become crusty. The enzyme can be mimicked by certain ingredients that will cause that same cohesion breakdown and is one choice for the exfoliation process.

As you age, the skin renewal process slows resulting in a thick layer of these dead cells sitting on the top of your skin.  Youthful skin sheds this layer quickly giving their skin radiance while adults mirror a dull, uneven skin appearance accompanied by a greater loss of natural moisture on the skin's surface.  This dull, uneven adult skin slow to slough off dead cells impede and cause an application of sunless tanning solution to result in unevenness and streaking.

What should I do for makeup and hair and nails!?

I have short wavy hair to my chin nothing done to it and shoulder length when straightened my hair color is brunette weave with of layers. I have a tan complexion with brown eyes and freckles I have very long eyelashes and my nails are semi-long and I want a good nail polish color for my skin but will go with anything I wear(uniforms). I have side bangs what do i do with them and almond shaped eyes

makeup=shimmery gold eyeshadow, natural lip, mascara
nails=clear then light pink or french manicure
hair=down and natural with side bangs to the side...haha
