Will getting tan ruin a tattoo?

okay so im getting my first tattoo soon
its going to be on my left arm.
im planing to get an old vintage style sleeve later on
but i really like to tan, i dont get that dark but u no lol. and sometimes i peel!
so i was wondering will it ruin the color of the tattoo???
and if so is there a certain way to take care of it so it doesnt?

Put Sun Block on your Tattoo everyday, not just when you go Tanning, and it should stay bright for a long time. It will fade no matter what, that's just what Tattoos do, but Sun Block will keep it bright as long as possible.

I used to use a concealer brush to put sunscreen on mine when I tanned, that way I had it covered perfectly but still could tan.
