Can I fly with a western saddle?

I'm flying across country on southwest and I was wondering with if I can fly my saddle as one of my checked bags.

It depends on whether the saddle is within the size allowance for checked luggage. Otherwise, Southwest does allow sports equipment but does charge for larger items. Saddles are not listed on their special baggage webpage, you might give them a call:
