Would I EVER Consider White Wicker Furniture?

Now I know what you're thinking, white wicker furniture no way!  How would I ever keep it clean and retain that beautiful "new" look with my family.  Our sunroom or outdoor space is the most active room in the house.  This is where we gather as a family, we entertain guests, and just relax in during those long warm summer months.  We would have it trashed out in a month.

This is the number one concern people have when even just thinking about white wicker furniture as a viable option when designing that special room or patio area.  Choosing white wicker furniture has been great features over many other furniture choices.

1. White wicker is extremely durable and pervious to all weather conditions including heavy downpours and bright hot sunlight
2. Wicker is very inexpensive compared to other options such as teak or wrought iron.
3. With proper maintenance and care it will remain beautiful for years to come
4. It is very versatile, considering its availability and furniture choices.  You can easily find rocking chairs, chests or trunks, wardrobes, lounges, dining sets, and many more options.
5. White wicker furniture can be found in any kind of décor, from elegant dining to just a casual sitting group.

Care and Maintenance

If your furniture is remaining outdoors may I suggest covering it with specially designed patio furniture covers especially if you are only using your patio during weekends?  By doing this you keep the pollution and the grime from just sitting outside from accumulating. This will certainly extend that long life even longer.

When it's time to give your white wicker furniture a little sprucing up give it the once over with just some mild laundry detergent and warm water with a soft bristle brush.  You might try a paint brush to get into the tiny cracks and crevices.  If you have a mold problem in your neck of the woods just add a small amount of mild disinfectant.

In a sunroom the care is even easier if that's possible.  Just give it a once over with a feather duster or the brush attachment of your vacuum cleaner once a week or so to keep the dust from accumulating.  If there is a spill no worry, just clean it up before it sets up with warm water.

I hope now I have convinced you to consider white wicker furniture when designing that sunroom or outdoor space.

How do I get white paint off wicker furniture?

The whole wicker bedroom suit is being given to me for free so I can't beat that but I don't want to put white twin beds in boys room.
can it be removed with paint thinner or something. or do I just need to paint/stain over it. I want it to be a natural brown wicker color? Help

I think you need to paint over the white (if this is truly a natural product like wicker and not a plastic replica) because you'll never be able to remove the white paint - because of all the texture, nooks, and crannies in the furniture. I don't think stain will work over the white paint as it needs wood or wicker bare to be able to soak into the surface of the material. However, there are gel stains available now but I've never worked with those so I can't say whether they'll work for you. Oh, yeah - if you paint the furniture, be sure to clean it well, use a primer, and then a durable paint - boys can be hard on furniture!
